Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that R K Khandelwal and Rajan Gupta have been appointed Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Chairmen for Gurugram and Panchkula benches respectively. The selection committee headed by Justice Surya Kant (Punjab and Haryana HC) had interviewed as many as 60 candidates for the posts of chairman and member of the two benches of RERA at Gurugram and Panchkula. The committee has sent to the state government a panel of two names each for the Gurugram and Panchkula Benches. K K Jalan (Retd IAS:1982:HY) and K K Khandelwal (IAS:1985:HY) were recommended for the post of chairman for the Gurugram Bench and those of retired IAS officer Rajan Gupta and retired district and sessions judge A K S Pawar for the Panchkula Bench. Reportedly, 68 candidates had applied for the RERA posts of which only 09 had applied for the post of chairpersons and 41 for the post of members. It may be noted that each of the two benches of the RERA has a chairman and two members.
