Kerala: Women district collector 10 out of 14 districts

3739Thiruvananthapuram (05.03.2022): With Dr Renu Raj (IAS: 2015: KL) joining as the District Collector of Alappuzha, 10 of the 14 districts in Kerala is now be helmed by women IAS officers. Dr Raj succeeds A. Alexander to the post following her recent assignment as Director, Urban Affairs. Dr Raj, a doctor by profession, had grabbed headlines when she stood second at the national level in the 2014 Civil Services examinations. Other districts that currently have women officers as district collectors are Thiruvananthapuram (Navjot Khosa: IAS:2012: KL), Kollam (Afsana Parveen: IAS:2014: KL), Pathanamthitta (Divya S. Iyer: IAS:2014: KL), Kottayam (P. K. Jayasree: IAS:2013: KL), Idukki (Sheeba George: IAS:2013: KL), Thrissur (Haritha V. Kumar: IAS:2013: KL), Palakkad (Mrunmayi Joshi IAS:2014: KL), Wayanad (A. Geetha: IAS:2012: KL) and Kasaragod (Bhandari Swagat Ranveerchand: IAS:2010: KL).
