The Kerala State Institute of Languages has brought out a book 'Parpidam', authored by housing expert and former IAS Officer, Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose. It will be released on May 13 at Thiruvananthapuram by Keral Governor Justice P. Sathasivam at Symphony, Mascot Hotel.  Justice Cyriac Joseph, Member, National Human Rights Commission, will receive the first copy. Dr. B. Iqbal, Kanayi Kunjiraman, Dr. M.R. Thampan, Ravi Shankar and Nemom Pushparaj will grace the function. The book presents a lucid analysis of the growth and development of housing the world over.  A well-researched book written after extensive study of the human settlement patterns in fifty countries, the book offers a global view of the complexities of housing. The text of the book is arranged in 13 chapters, each highlighting one aspect or the other of housing.  The chapters are: Foray into Housing, Home for Gods, Home for Humans, Home for Animals, Monumental Architecture, Architecture - National, Architecture - International, Modernism, Urbanisation, Principles of Architecture, Housing and Environment, Affordable Housing - the Nirmithi Movement, Housing Models.  Extensively illustrated by Art Director, Nemom Pushparaj, the book contains visuals of architectural landmarks from prehistoric times to the present day. The General Editor of the book is Dr. M.R. Thampan.
