Chandigarh (07.10.2025): In a big surprise, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently nominated Rajinder Gupta as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha. He is expected to get elected unanimously. He held a key meeting on October 6, 2025 in Chandigarh with senior party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia. Grapevine is abuzz that the growing unpopularity of AAP in Punjab and Delhi being the reason for former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to take steps back for RS nomination which could have further damaged party’s prospect.
The meeting between Gupta and Sisodia revolved around former’s future role and responsibilities as a Rajya Sabha member. Discussions also included strategies to advance AAP’s national agenda and effectively raise Punjab-specific issues in Parliament.
