kejriwal-jolted-by-bureaucratic-backlashDelhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has landed in a soup. Buoyed by the Supreme Court-judgement on Wednesday, his deputy Manish Sisodiya issued an order that transfer of IAS and DANICS officers will be issued by the chief minister. The deputy chief minister will issue the transfer orders of DASS cadre and grade I officers. The aim was to overpower the bureaucracy instantly. But the chief minister somewhat undermined the might of bureaucracy. The law department advised the chief secretary that the order of Delhi high court had not been set aside by the Supreme Court. The high court had declared that the LG is the administrator. The MHA had vested police, public order, land and services with the LG and the same had been endorsed by Delhi high court. The Supreme Court had not annulled this HC judgement. So the Service department of Delhi government did not agree to obey the order of deputy chief minister to effect the transfer of IAS and DANICS officers as desired by CM. Enraged CM wrote a letter to LG stating that if service files are sent to LG and he is issuing orders on it, this will amount to contempt of court. This was a straight warning of Kejriwal to LG on Thursday evening. In the same warning letter, Kejriwal said if you agree, I can meet you to discuss this issue. And the LG obliged him by giving him an appointment at 3 pm on Friday. In all probability, LG would endorse the line of chief secretary Anshu Prakash. But the real story will unfold in the evening when both of them will issue separate statements after the meeting
