Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Thursday transferred Mumbai Economic Offences Wing (EOW) chief Dhananjay Kamalakar. In a late evening development, the 1992-batch IPS officer was appointed as Inspector General, Coastal Security.
The transfer came amid media reports highlighting how the IPS officer and his son, Rohit (23), were under fire after Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), a state undertaking, accused Rohit and four others of fraudulently usurping its 76,400 sq m land in Pune's Koregaon.
Pravin Salunkhe, a 1995-batch officer who was previously heading Coastal Security, will replace Kamalakar in the EOW.
