If some credible buzz are to be believed Jishnu Kant , District & Sessions Judge, Lalitpur, may shortly be appointed as Judge, Aallahabad High Court. Sri Kant a native of Mirzapur was appointed in Judicial Service in May 1980. He has been serving as District & Sessions Judge, Lalitpur, since Nov 13, 2014. Prior to his stint in Lalitpur, he served as District & Sessions Judge, Gonda (UP).
After the appointment of seven Additional Judges with Allahabad HC in the month of February this year it is the turn for over a dozen Judges to be added to the strength. At present 76 posts (17 permanent judges and 59 additional judges) are vacant as against the approved strength of 160 judges in Allahabad High Court.
