Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that I S Jha, the outgoing CMD of Power Grid Corporation (PGCIL), may soon be appointed a Member of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC)- approx six months ahead of his retirement.

 

Jha is scheduled to retire in June next year. CERC job will give him a fresh lease of life to his career tiil he attains 65 years of age.

 

Currently, P K Pujari (Retd IAS:1981:GJ) is the Chairperson of CERC whereas Dr M K Iyer is the Member. CERC has one Chairperson and three Members. Currently, two posts of Members are lying vacant.

 

In the case of Jha joining CERC, the top post of PGCIL will be available for aspirants.
