some well-placed sources are to be believed Mukesh Kumar Meena (IPS:1989:UT) is
ahead in the race for the top cop job in Goa. The DGP post in the state fell
vacant after Pranab Nanda (IPS:1988:UT) died of cardiac arrest last month. Previously,
he served as Delhi’s Anti-Corruption Branch chief who investigated the
sensitive cases pertaining to scams related to the Delhi government; a move
that had led to a tussle between the then Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung and chief
minister Arvind Kejriwal. Later he was transferred to Mizoram. Presently, Meena
is serving in Arunachal Pradesh as Additional Director General of Police. Union
MHA has called upon Joint Cadre Authority meeting on December 26 to decide on
transfer of IAS, IPS officers of AGMUT cadre which now include J&K and
Ladakh as well. The meeting will be chaired by Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
In addition to all members of the Joint Cadre Authority Delhi Police Commissioner
Amulya Patnaik too will attend the meeting as special invitee.
