HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has been holding meetings with his officers to work out ideas for encouraging schools and colleges to operate cashlessly with the help of digital banking. In the process, he hit upon the idea of making urban educational institutes to adopt village schools and colleges and send off their students to rural areas to educate students there on mobile banking and e-wallets. Even as the idea is met with skepticism, the minister is said to be keen to experiment with it.
