Speculations have mounted about Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar reverting back to Goa after he reportedly told a Goa journalist that "yes, I'm coming back." It's rumored that a Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards anytime in the next four months, and Parriker would return to Goa to take care of the elections in that coastal state. The situation has been triggered by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which has gone against its political outfit -the ruling BJP, on the issue of Medium of Instruction. The RSS, leading the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch, is demanding that the BJP government withdraws government grants to English medium primary schools run by the Church.The ruling party, however, has gone against its election promise by continuing grants to the Church schools, started by its predecessors - the Congress. The ruling BJP has suddenly gone into a panic mode with BBSM getting huge crowds for its public meetings, which appeals to the Goans to defeat the party for backstabbing the people of Goa. The BJP, however, does not want to antagonise the Church, which holds 25% Christian vote bank, without which the BJP cannot come back to power.As situation is going out of control of Parrikar's successor Laxmikant Parsekar, it is learnt that Parrikar's comeback has become crucial for the BJP's survival. A high level delegation, led by Parrikar and Parsekar, had last week met BJP president Amit Shah in this regard.
