New Delhi (31.05.2025):Gaurav Govil (IRSSE: 1996) has been debarred from all kinds of central deputation for a period of five years w.e.f. 21.03.2025. In addition, he has also been debarred from being given cadre clearance for any foreign assignment/consultancies abroad during the period of debarment as per the extant policy.
This is to recall that Govil was appointed as Combined CVO in MES and BRO, Delhi under the Ministry of Defence by an order dated 21.03.2025. Ministry of Railways was requested to relieve him with the direction to join his new assignment but Govil did not join the assignment.
Ministry of Railways on 09.04.2025 was requested to bring the implications of not joining the assignment to the notice of Govil so that on a later date, he may not represent that the adverse consequences of not joining as Combined CVO in MES and BRO were not brought to his notice. It was also pointed out that that if the officer does not join within 15 days from the date of receipt of the notice or the Ministry of Railways does not relieve him, this Department shall go ahead with cancellation of his appointment and notify the debarment with attendant consequences.
Ministry of Defence on 22.05.2025 informed that the officer has not yet assumed the charge of the post of Combined CVO in MES and BRO, Delhi, in accordance CVO guidelines dated 28.04.2017, the approval conveyed to the aforesaid appointment is hereby cancelled.
