The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi has convicted IPS officer Hemchand who was formerly Executive Director (Vigilance), CCL, Ranchi and sentenced him to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs.10,000 in a bribery case.
From the press release issued by the CBI, it's clear that the case had dragged on for very long. While the case itself was registered on 30.08.1992, the charge sheet was filed on 06.03.1998 in the Designated Court. And the verdict has come now.
