Mumbai (03.05.2025): In the first-ever World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) held in Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, 2025, a son of soil from Daltonganj, Palamu in Jharkhand Rohit Dayal Shukla received Gold Medal. He was awarded at “WAVES 2025” for his Historical Graphic Novel.
This graphic novel is crafted in traditional Sohrai Art of Jharkhand which is based on the historical battle between Raja Medini Rai and Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s lieutenant Dawood Khan Panni. The convergence of art and history has not only attracted viewers but also the jury.
The WAVES 2025, a brain child of the Narendra Modi administration, was organised by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. A milestone event for the Media & Entertainment (M&E) sector, in Mumbai, Maharashtra from May 1 to 4, 2025 was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 1, 2025. WAVES 2025 has brought together the world’s leading media, entertainment, and technology innovators at Jio Convention Centre.
Rohit Dayal Shukla, a passionate reader and avid collector of comics and graphic novels, is the Manager at Indian Overseas Bank. He has cultivated a deep appreciation for storytelling over the years. For the past three years, Rohit has been seriously engaged in writing book reviews and exploring the world of fiction writing. He was given away the award along with Shivangi Shaily who is a seasoned fashion designer from NIFT, Delhi.
