India is sending out an unmistakable signal to China that it will quietly and surely neutralize Beijing's efforts to outflank India. This was reflected in the fact that even as Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar completes his two-day parleys with China on Wednesday, Russia declared on Tuesday that it would no more hold joint military exercises with Pakistan - China's lynchpin in the Indian subcontinent. If this was not enough to tell China that it's the only friend of Islamabad in India's subcontinent, on the way back from Beijing, Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Bangladesh in connection with the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina possibly in April this year. Beijing has been targeting Dhaka for exploiting as a flanker against New Delhi in a repeat of what it did in Sri Lanka.
