Uttarakhand Police arrested, on Tuesday, an impostor who claimed himself to be an IAS officer Purushottam Das currently posted in the office of president as Under Secretary. The use of red beacon and hooter by the SUV in which the impostor was travelling appeared suspicious to the cops, who arrested him when the facts came to the fore. Delhi resident, Roshan Lal Bansal had come to Uttarakhand for some work and was on way back to Delhi. As Bansal claimed that he did not have any identity proof, he gave a visiting card in which his name was mentioned as Das. The police made a call to the phone number mentioned on the visiting caard and found the imposter's claim false. Further Bansal, a fruit supplier by profession, was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the IPC for impersonation.
