Chennai (03.08.2023): The Madras High Court has sentenced senior IAS officer Pradeep Yadav belonging to 1992 batch and two others to two weeks imprisonment and a fine of Rupees one thousand each in a contempt case for failure to implement court’s order. The court underlined that the officer during his tenure as Principal Secretary to School Education Department failed to implement the order of the court.
It may be underlined that G Pragasam had filed a petition against the IAS officer, Director of Teacher Education Research and Training Education and Principal of the District Institute of Education and Training and the Correspondent Oliyasthanam Teacher Training Institute.
Reportedly the respondents had failed to comply with court’s order to regularise Pragasam’s service w.e.f. 01.04.1979 on par with that of the similarly placed persons and extend the monetary benefits by passing suitable orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
