In a first, the government has set into motion an unique initiative to train new IAS officers from various cadres through interaction with Union Ministers from that state.
The initiative would not only help the freshers to understand the ground realities of the cadre they belong to but would also prepare them for efficiently implementing centrally-sponsored schemes and programmes to the last mile in the state.
The first such interaction of 2014 batch IAS officers of Bihar cadre is scheduled for Friday with nine Union Ministers, including Ram Vilas Paswan and Ravi Shankar Prasad, sources said.
J P Nadda, Radha Mohan Singh, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ram Kripal Yadav, Giriraj Singh and Upendra Kushwaha will also interact with the young officers.
There are about 10 new Bihar cadre officers, who are currently attached as assistant secretaries with the central government departments for three months.
Union ministers are planning to interact with young officers from each cadre in the coming days, sources said.
In total, around 172 IAS officers from 2014 batch from 24 cadres/joint cadres are presently working as assistant secretaries at the Centre.
