It may be mentioned that Javadekar's previous PS Vinay Srivastava, a 1992 batch officer of Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), was abruptly repatriated to his cadre supposedly to avail promotion benefits in cadre; Ministry Of Railway.
Srivastava was appointed as PS to the then MoS for Information and Broadcasting (Prakash Javadekar) on July 24, 2014. Later in November 20, 2014, he was appointed as PS to Javadekar in In Ministry Of Environment Forests & Climate Change.
The DoPT order issued on August 30, 2017 Read that the tenure of Srivastava as PS to Union HRD Minister was extended for the period up to 21 July 2019 but abruptly on November 23, 2017 he was prematurely repatriated to his cadre on grounds of promotion.
