Hyderabad (28.08.2025): Telangana High Court has set aside the Centre's decision allotting A Vani Prasad (IAS: 1995: AP) AP cadre and directed DoPT to allot her Telangana cadre within two months. She is currently working as Special Chief Secretary with AP's Labour Department. Vani Prasad's entire life right from her elementary education till her graduation was in Hyderabad. As per Article 371-D and Presidential Order, her domicile was determined as Telangana. The Pratyush Sinha Committee took her place of birth (Guntur) as the criterion and allotted her AP cadre. The bench comprising Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili and Justice V Ramakrishna Reddy said that Presidential Order prevails over all other orders and directed the Centre to allot her Telangana cadre.
