Gujarat: Govt enacts a jumbo reshuffle

Gandhinagar (01.04.2023): The Bhupendra Patel government has reshuffled over 100 IAS officers which includes 18 district collectors. A total of 10 officials have been promoted as well in one of the largest bureaucratic reshuffle undertaken after it was re-elected. Some of the senior officers included:

  • Mukesh Puri (IAS: 1988: GJ) has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department.
  • A K Rakesh (IAS: 1989: GJ) has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Cooperation department.
  • Kamal Dayani (IAS: 1990: GJ) has been appointed as ACS, General Administration Department (Personnel).
  • S J Haider (IAS: 1991: GJ) has been appointed as ACS Industries and Mines Department.
  • Mukesh Kumar (IAS: 1995: GJ) has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary in Education Department.
  • Rahul Gupta (IAS: 2004: GJ) has also been transferred and appointed as Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
  • Sandip Sagale (IAS: 2007: GJ) has been appointed as the industries Commissioner in Gandhinagar.
  • Milind Torawane (IAS: 2000: GJ) has been appointed as the Managing Director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC).
  • Sanjeev Kumar (IAS: 1998: GJ) has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Forests and Environment department.
  • Roopwant Singh (IAS: 2003: GJ) has been transferred and appointed as full-time Managing Director of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation.
  • Dhavalkumar Patel (IAS: 2008: GJ) has been appointed as new Commissioner of Geology and Mining at Gandhinagar.
