New Delhi (12.03.2023): The Centre has appointed over a dozen Governors in various states and interestingly no bureaucrat has been able to make it to the list. Speculation was rife in the power corridors that retired IPS and former Delhi police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana is one of the most favorite officers and will certainly make a cut as a gubernatorial assignment. However, there are certain political overtones with Gulab Chand Katariya being sent out of Rajasthan. Will Vasundhara Raje be given a free hand in Rajasthan or something similar awaits for her too?
One more Tamil leader and former Union minister C P Radhakrishnan was appointed keeping in mind the state for 2024 L S elections. The person who was part of the Ayodhya verdict Justice (Retd) S Abdul Nazeer too has been appointed as Governor. Out of five, one in Rajya Sabha and the other in Raj Bhawan certainly have some meaning.
  • Lt General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik has been appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh
  • Lakshaman Prasad Acharya has been appointed as Governor of Sikkim.
  • C P Radhakrishnan has been appointed as Governor of Jharkhand.
  • Shiv Pratap Shukla has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Gulab Chand Katariya has been appointed as Governor of Assam.
  • Justice (Retd) S Abdul Nazeer has been appointed as Governor of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, who was governor of Andhra Pradesh, has been appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh.
  • Anusuiya Uikye, Governor of Chhattisgarh, has been appointed as Governor of Manipur.
  • La Ganeshan, Governor of Manipur, has been appointed as Governor of Nagaland.
  • Phagu Chauhan, Governor of Bihar, has been appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.
  • Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Governor of Bihar.
  • Ramesh Bais, Governor of Jharkhand, has been appointed as Governor of Maharashtra in view of Bhagat Singh Koshiyari’s resignation.
  • Brig. (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Lt Governor of Ladakh.
