As reported first by Indianmandarins on 07 February 2017 (web link below), Ghanshyam Singh (IRSEE) was yesterday appointed to the post of Member (Traction), Railway Board. Currently, he serves as GM of Eastern Railway (Kolkata). The outgoing Member (Traction), A K Kapoor, retired on 28 February 2017. Media reports had been agog with speculations that CVC was set to scuttle Ghanshyam Singh's prospects. But all through Indianmandarins maintained that the appointment was a done thing.
