Former Punjab DGP Suresh Arora (IPS:1982:PB) is
appointed the state's new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). Rather
fortuitously, it was during his tenure as DGP that the State Information
Commission shortlisted the Punjab Police department as the ‘Best Govt.
Department to implement RTI’. Arora, an IPS officer of 1982
batch, retired in February this year after 33 years of service. He became DGP of Punjab Police in
October 2015.
