Rajiv Gauba has held important assignments over the last three decades in Bihar, Jharkhand along with key positions of Union Home Secretary and Union Cabinet Secretary. Prior to becoming Union Secretary for Housing & Urban Affairs he served as Chief Secretary, Jharkhand. 

Rajiv Gauba begins his new stint as the fourth member at Aayog along with Dr Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Prof Ramesh Chand and Dr Vinod Paul. Currently, Dr Suman Bery is Vice Chairperson in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister whereas former Commerce Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam (Retd IAS: 1987: CG) is CEO.
