Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), presently governed through CMD, is expected to see a split soon. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, reportedly, has decided to split the posts into Chairman and a Managing Director.
For the first time, ever since its inception in 1970s, DTC will be headed by Political executive instead of a civil servant. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot will be made Chairman of the DTC Board whereas Manoj Kumar, currently heading DTC as its CMD, may soon be re-designated as MD of DTC.
The formal announcement of the appointments is expected in a couple of days.
