The Ministry of Labour and
Employment has drafted a Labour Code on Industrial Relations by simplifying,
amalgamating and rationalizing certain provisions of The Industrial Disputes
Act, 1947; The Trade Unions Act, 1926; and The Industrial Employment (Standing
Orders) Act, 1946. Union Minister of State (I/C)
Santosh Kumar Gangwar informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that the
provisions of the draft Code were discussed with stakeholders in various
Tripartite Meetings and then finalized. The Code is at a pre-legislative stage,
he added.
