D P S Negi (IES:1985) promoted in the scale of Additional Secretary (NFU, HAG) in Govt of India. Currently he serves as Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Medium, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). Prior to his current assignment he served in Urban Development Ministry and contributed significantly to the flagship programs namely; JNNURM and Rajiv Awas Yojana. He is considered as the main Architect for developing and releasing Housing Start Up Index (HSUI) in collaboration with RBI in the year 2013-14 which made India 7th in world to have such Index. He was Member Secretary of National Technical committee on Housing Shortage in 12th Five Year Plan and beyond based on which Present Government has kept a targets of Housing for All (Urban) as 20 Million in the Housing & Urban Affairs Ministry. Those in the know of the affairs say that Negi is known especially for his sharp and quick decision-making attributes.
