BHUBANESWAR (08.06.2026): The Odisha government reinstated Dhiman Chakma (IAS: 2021: OD) and posted him as deputy secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management department, pending the outcome of corruption proceedings against him.Chakma was arrested by state Vigilance on June 8, 2025, while serving as sub-collector of Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district. He was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a businessman operating a stone crusher unit.
