The Jharkhand government has appointed DK Pandey(IPS:1984:JH) as new Director General of Police.
Pandey replaced Rajeev Kumar (IPS:1981:JH) who has been posted as the DGP (Training).
Prior to his posting as DGP of Jharkhand, Pandey was the Additional Director General (ADG) of CRPF. He has also served as IGP (Bokaro) and Ranchi and also as ADGP (Operation) earlier. Pandey also served in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) from 1996-2002.
