The big bureaucratic rejig came just a month before his retirement placing him on a wait list besides nine others getting new assignments.
Sources say that the timing of the bureaucratic rejig was not only surprising but worth noticing as well. As the buzz goes, one of the key functionaries, the batchmate, in the state establishment was not well-placed and was out of the official affairs for the day. Coincidentally, the big bureaucratic rejig took place around the same time.
A section of insiders believes that had the key functionary been well-placed the decision of placing the said officer on a wait list a month ahead of retirement could have been averted. Did timing play a key role?
