Every Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer aspires to nurture his/her career to become Director General of Forests (DGF) one day. Now, it is time for others to cast their hats in the ring as the outgoing DG, Forests and Special Secretary, MoEF&CC Siddhanta Das (IFS:1982:OR) will move to join National Green tribunal (NGT) soon (CLICK TO READ).

DG (Forests) is filled through selection process and many IFS officers have reportedly staked claim. Those who are said to have applied for the post are;

It is learnt that the Selection Committee headed by Union Cabinet Secretary is expected to complete the selection process in a matter of weeks.
