some well-placed sources are to be believed the NaMo administration has accepted
the VRS request of Siddhanta Das (IFS:1982:OR), the incumbent Director General
of Forests and Special Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of
Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Indianmandarins
further learns that he may relinquish the charge of DG Forests on December 31,
2019 following which he may take charge as Expert-Member of the National Green
Tribunal (NGT). Das will replace Dr S S Garbyal (Retd IFS:1977) the outgoing Expert-Member
completing his tenure on January 2013. Das
took over as DG Forests in 2017. Four months ahead of his scheduled date of
retirement (31.04.2020) he is set to embark on a new journey with NGT which may
continue till January 2023.
