Effecting the major bureaucratic reshuffle in J&K Mufti Mohammad Syeed Cabinet appointed senior IAS officer Lateef-ul-Zaman Deva as new Chairman of the State Public Service Commission, the topmost recruitment body in the state. Ironically, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai had been a serious contender for Chairman, State PSC but the proposal to appoint him to the post was turned down twice last year. In addition senior advocate Reyaz Ahmad Jan has been appointed as new Advocate General of J&K.
