Rakesh Singh, Secretary Steel, has already taken over the charge of SAIL CMD on June 11 after C S Verma was denied extension by the Modi regime but the after effects seem have escalated now. The power corridors are abuzz these days that the denial of extension to Verma has been giving nightmares to many top brasses across PSUs having strong professional track records and credentials as well. C S Verma had taken over as CMD of the country's largest steel producer for a 05 yr term in June 2010 and was eligible for an extension till September 2019, till attained the superannuation age of 60 years. Verma considered as one of the the strongest PSU chiefs. In fact Modi Government's move of fresh appointments and lateral shifts of seventeen secretaries at one go (on June 02) has already shook the top order bureaucracy. Passionate observers of the bureaucracy say that 'nobody now seems stable in this ever most stable government'.
