The Chief Secretary has been asked to recover the money spent from the Delhi government's funds. The Lieutenant Governor's action on advertisements is as per orders of the Supreme Court in 2015, the Delhi High Court in 2016 and of the SC-mandated Committee on Content Regulation in Government Advertising (CCRGA) in 2016.

There was no immediate reaction from the Delhi government in this regard. However, the AAP has alleged "political vendetta" behind the Lieutenant Governor's order. This comes a day after Saxena invoked his powers to get cleared within days 11 files on important development projects of the Centre that were pending for approval with the city government.
