Delhi CM warns ministers, MLAs against summoning DMs for meetings

New Delhi (16.07.2025): Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has warned ministers and MLAs against summoning District Magistrates (DMs) and Additional District Magistrates (ADMs) for inspections and meetings, citing disruptions to their office work and public dealings. Revenue Secretary Neeraj Semwal (IAS: 2003: UT) issued a letter stating that such meetings hinder important magisterial and revenue-related functions. The letter notes that DMs' offices, located in different parts of Delhi, handle general public dealings that are adversely affected when officers are called away. This directive marks a shift from the previous AAP government, where bureaucrats often didn't attend ministerial meetings.
