Chandigarh (03.10.2024): Attending a BJP campaign trail at 1 PM and joining the Congress at 3 PM by BJP’s star campaigner, former Lok Sabha MP and former Haryana Congress President Ashok Tanwar was nothing less than a surgical strike by the grand old party on saffron outfit. Election campaign has end today for October 5, 2024 voting for Assembly elections. In 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he was defeated by Kumari Selja from Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency. Ashok Tanwar is the son-in-law of Lalit Maken who along with his wife was killed in terrorist attack in New Delhi.

It may also be underlined that the Congress leadership had bestowed Tanwar with almost all key responsibilities and positions in his early days in politics including National President of NSUI and later as Indian Youth Congress President. Later he was picked as Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee chief and further elected as Lok Sabha Member on Congress ticket.
