Amarawati (19.12.2023): The Andhra Pradesh government is starting a program to inform people of the state in detail about how to get free medical services under Aarogyasri Scheme. Aarogyasri campaign programs will start in five villages of each constituency from today. MLAs and public representatives will start this in the villages of their respective constituencies. The program would be carried out in four villages per mandal every week this way. Under this scheme, ANMs, CHWs form one group, ASHA workers, public representatives, government supporters and those who are interested in this program will participate in the other group.

Not only would they go to every house and give new Aarogyasri card to the family but also explain how to get free medical services. Aarogyasri App can be downloaded and registered in at least one person's mobile phone of every household. Women Police personnel would also participate and download the Disha App. A 6-minute video message prepared by the Medical and Health Department on the services of Aarogyasri should be shown to the respective families.

Features of the scheme:

  • It will provide free treatment for medical procedures up to Rs 25 lakhs
  • The scheme will provide Smart Aarogyasri Card with new feature at the doorstep
  • The government will provide health services in the villages itself
  • Appointment of 53,126 medical staff has been made with the intention that there is no vacant post left in hospitals
  • Under various health schemes 1,13,35,651 people have been benefited so far at a cost of Rs 127 crore
  • Construction of 17 Government Medical College are proposed at Rs 8,480   crore
  • Renovation of 11 Government Medical College will be done at the expenditure of Rs 3820 crore
  • Multi super-speciality hospitals to be constructed at Rs 518 crore
  • CHC, Area Hospitals Construction and Development Works at the cost of Rs 1,223 crore
  • YSR Pension Kanukla (For chronic patients) total beneficiary 52426 at cost of Rs 1,415 crore
  • Palasa Kidney Research Centre built at Rs 85 crore
  • Oxygen Facilities in hospitals during COVID period incurred a cost of Rs 426 crore
  • Growth monitoring equipment in Anganwadis at the expance of Rs 44 crore
