The appointments committee of cabinet (ACC) has declined a proposal for the inter-cadre deputation of Sanjiv Chaturvedi (IFS:UD:2002) from Uttarakhand to the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Earlier, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has directed the ACC to decide the matter by June 26. His deputation tenure comes to an end on June 28. The ACC decision has made it clear that he will move to Uttarakhand on June 29.
In a letter dated June 21, 2016, the ACC based its order on an observation of the MOEF & CC that Sanjiv has not completed his mandatory cooling off period of three years in his cadre to deserve an inter-cadre deputation.
May it be recalled that the CAT has gone through all the points relating to the inter-cadre deputation of Sanjiv and found the government stand on avoiding a decision unsustainable.
