New Delhi (29.10.2024): The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on after interfacing with sixteen candidates, on Saturday, selected and recommended Ashok Chandra for the post of Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Punjab National Bank (PNB). He has been serving as Executive Director (ED) at Canara Bank, since 21.11.2022.
Subject to requisite clearances and ACC approval Chandra will take over from Atul Kumar Goel on completion on his service terms on 31.12.2024.
Chandra started his banking career with the erstwhile Corporation Bank in September 1991 as a probationary officer. He holds a master’s degree in economics and is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He also led two important zones of the bank; Varanasi and Delhi. During the stint with Canara Bank Chandra had an extensive experience of global operations while working at Bank’s representative office in Dubai, UAE.
