Top order bureaucracy in Indian Railway is expecting PM's decision on Chairman Railway Board shortly as the tenure of incumbent CRB arunendra Kumar is coming to end on December 31.
With only two days left in hand the bureaucracy is abuzz with two possibilities. First, Arunendra Kumar may be given extension beyond Dec 31 and secondly, member (Staff) A K Mital may be appointed as new Chairman.
Team Indianmandarins have learnt that there has been a chance for Arunendra Kumar to get extension which has, reportedly, been proposed by the Railway Minister on December 15. It is also learnt that in case Prime Minister turns down the extension proposal A K Mital may be named as new CRB.
After all it is Modi's regime which makes almost everyone to be definitive over any top level decision. Its better to wait and watch whether the extension is on the cards or a new appointment taks place.
