CBI: Major appointments & extensions effected at DIG & SP level

New Delhi (31.01.2023): The New Delhi establishment on Tuesday effected a major decision pertaining to the appointments and extensions at DIG and SP level. Two IPS officers were appointed as DIG and two as SP in CBI whereas four officers working as DIG and SP were given extensions in tenure.  
Two IPS officers were inducted into CBI as DIG for a period of 5 years:
  • Sudhir Kallaya Hiremath (IPS: 2007: MH) 
  • Satya Veer Singh (IPS:2008: BH)
Two IPS officers were inducted into CBI as SP for a period of 5 years:
  • Manjunath Singe (IPS: 2011: MH)
  • Divya Sara Thomas (IPS: 2013:KN)
Further, the tenure of four officials in CBI were extended:
  • DIG Vijayendra Bidari (IPS: 2005: TN) got extension upto July 18, 2024 (total 7 years) 
  • DIG Anoop T Mathew (IPS: 2006: JH) got extension upto February 11, 2025 (total 7 years)
  • SP Ashok Kumar (IRS C&IT: 2006) got extension upto January 29, 2026 (total 7 years)
  • SP Manoj Verma (Second-In-Command CRPF) got extension upto  August 27, 2023 (5 yrs in total)
