The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested S P S Bakshi, CMD of Engineering Projects India Limited including two Executive Directors namely; Harcharan Pal and Kapil Tara. The EDs arrested are posted as ED, Contracts Division (Delhi) and ED, Mumbai Region. Id addition, CBI arrested four others also in an alleged bribery of Rs. 10 lakh. Reportedly, a representative of Raipur based private firm through its partners had alleged that the said public servants demanded illegal gratification from the said private firm (Builders of Raipur) for favouring the company in the award of the contract for construction of Mega Urban Educational Complex at Pallur Hills, Kainisi, Berhampur, District Ganjam, (Odisha). It was further alleged that the CMD in conspiracy with others, deputed his staff to collect Rs. 10 lakhs as a part payment of the total agreed amount of gratification from one hawala operator based at Chandni Chowk, Delhi. The staff was intercepted by CBI while allegedly receiving the said bribe. Searches were conducted today at 8 locations in Delhi, Mumbai and Raipur.
