BSP gives 25% tickets to Muslims; likely to help BJP at I.N.D.I.A’s cost

New Delhi (18.04.2024): Is it an attempt of Bahujan Samaj Party to break the perception of being the ‘B’ team of the BJP or its decisions will endorse it further? Of the 55 tickets given so far by BSP chief Mayawati, 14 are Muslims. The community constitutes about 19 per cent of the population of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, the I.N.D.I.A. has given only seven tickets to Muslims of the 72 seats announced so far, a point being raised by various BSP leaders during electoral campaign. But will it not divide Muslim votes between BSP and I.N.D.I.A?
