The proposed cadre review of Border Security Force (BSF) may involve creation of four news posts in ADG rank. Reportedly, two newly created posts may be ear-marked for BSF cadres and the rest may be encadred for IPS officers. The proposal for four new ADG posts together with 26 new posts in IG rank has sparked hope among officers aspiring for promotions to higher ranks.
Currently BSF has four sanctioned posts of Spl DG/ADG rank and 26 posts in the rank of IG.
Subject to the approval of Union Home Ministry (the cadre controlling authority) and ACC ratification, the the sanctioned strength of Spl DG and ADG may reach eight. IPS officers and BSF cadre officers have a lot more to cheer ahead.
