While claiming for his sure-shot selection the official, shortlisted for selection interview as an internal candidate, had virtually announced his selection for the position in the same PSU. He was open and loud so much so that almost everyone knew he was through. Maybe a coincidence or more than just a coincidence, his forecast proved to be right. Once the selection result was announced, the old buzz on the floor became more pronounced.
