As Indianmandarins has reported first (see web-link below) on 22 September 2016 Gopal Baglay (IFS:1992) has replaced Vikas Swarup (IFS:1986) as new MEA Spokesperson. The erstwhileAX Spokesperson Swarup recently moved to Canada as Indian High Commissioner. Power corridors were abuzz of two more names in running for XP Spokesperson namely; Shambhu S Kumaran (IFS:1995) and Dinesh Bhatia (IFS:1992). Dinesh Bhatia (1992) has been in Toronto since 09 March 2016 as Consul General of India whereas Kumaran (1995) is currently serving as Joint Secretary (Planning & International Cooperation) in Ministry of Defence. But finally, Bagalay won the race.
