Basant Pratap Singh (IAS:1984:MP) has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh.
B P Singh will succeed Anonty DeSa (IAS:1980:MP) who will be retiring from the service on 31 October, 2016 and will take charge of his new assignment from 1 November, 2016.
As per the practise, he will initially take charge as OSD of the Chief Secretary Office from today (Thursday) and as full-fledged CS from 1 November, 2016.
At present Singh is serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh.
