The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on August 14 cleared the appointment of Debasis Jana and Santosh Sharma as CMD of Andrew Yule & Co and Hindustan Copper Corporation Limited. With these two appointments two Director-level positions have fallen vacant as Jana served as Director (Planning) AYCL and Sharma served as Director (Finance) HCL. Further, with the appointment of Naveen Bhushan to the post of Director (Finance), the board of Power Finance Corporation is up to its strength. It may well be noted that the PESB had recommended Jana's name for CMD AYCL on May 19 and Sharma's name for HCL CMD on May 29 whereas N B Gupta was recommended for PFC post on March 09 this year.
